Parakang: Manusia Jadi-jadian (2017) English Review

Syamsul and Narti as parakang (Someone like skinchanger. Someone who has the skill to become bird, pig etc) are brought together in the depths of the forest due to being hunted by citizens in their respective hamlets. They are caught when they want to prey on their victims. Syamsul while trying to suck the intestine of a man on the deathbed, and Narti with a pregnant mother. The meeting makes them lovers. In a village far from where they lived before, they tries a new life. Their marriage resulted in a daughter, Nurlinda, Syamsul and Narti’s life change. They have many treasures thanks to their parakang skill. After elementary school to high school in her village, Linda continues studying in Makassar. Madong, son of Sugondo, Syamsul’s business partner, becomes Linda's lover. After college Linda works at a company in Makassar. Her career quickly skyrockets because of her intelligence and ability. This makes co-worker Fifi jealous, When Linda asked to present the project she is working on, Fifi is acting out. As a result Linda is embarrassed and furious. Suddenly there is a change in Linda's body. The nails of her hands become longer and her eyes were fierce, her hair half-white and disheveled, her tongue sticking out, her face slightly blackened. The incident in the bathroom is recorded by Fifi. Linda does not know what cause her body changing. Linda goes home find out what really happen to her. Syamsul and Narti explain that it is the process of transformation into a parakang, Fifi has a powerful weapon to destroy Linda's career and also her relationship with Madong, her former lover in high school. The news quickly spread in the office. Linda feels that all her coworkers are avoiding her, even her boss diverts some of the projects Linda has previously handled. Linda is fired. Linda is stress. Linda begins to be controlled by her parakang. Every night she wanders to find prey. A pregnant mother is almost a victim. The baby at a community health center is almost killed. Linda starts to avoid Madong, she does not want Madong to know that she is a parakang. Fifi takes advantage of the situation. She tells Madong who is Linda really. Fifi tries to kill Linda. When Madong meets Linda at some place, Fifi tries to crash into Linda, but Madong gets hit and dies. Fifi flees. Linda wants revenge, Her parakang begins to force her to prey, and one of the victims is Fifi’s mother who is sick. Fifi catchts Linda while preying her mother. She uploads Linda videos to Youtube. The community burns Linda's house. Linda returns to her village. Apparently his parents are also expelled, all their property is destroyed, Linda goes to where his father first received the skill of Parakang. Linda finds her mother and father. They are reunited for a revenge
